Missa Gaudeamus is a parody on the motet Jubilate Deo by Cristobal de Morales, which dates from 1538 and celebrates the peace treaty signed between Francis I and Charles V.
This edition, for SSAATB voices, is edited by Ivan moody, 1992 and part of a series of short volumes, each devoted to a single composer or appropriate group of composers, thoroughly exploring the unlimited resources of Renaissance sacred polyphony.
