When I Grow Up comes from Matilda he Musical, the award-winning stage version of Roald Dahl’s classic children’s novel from the Royal Shakespeare Company. The song is a wish list of the kind of pleasures adulthood is imagined to bring. Of course it is a poignant list because in this case all it contains is freedom from the trials of childhood.

Tim Minchin’s song is performed by the company led by Matilda. This choral version for SATB and piano accompaniment is arranged by Simon Foxley.
