Mel Bay’s Modern Piano Method is designed to introduce the student to the world of piano playing from a contemporary perspective. The book will teach basic music theory concepts as well as general piano skills and techniques needed for developing a solid pianistic foundation. Several different styles of music are introduced in the book to give the student a broader musical perspective. After completion of the book the student will have a well-rounded understanding of how to read notes and how basic chord symbols work.
